COMIX
I've made a wee change here - COMIX are now split into two sections...
WEB COMIX
Here we will have COMIX exclusive to this site. I'll add new stuff as regular as is possible.
WHICH HAND?: Sorry to short change you but this was my (unsuccessful) submission to this years SPX anthology. I'd spotted a mad looking lady on my usual train journey into work one morning. That evening I sat and sat in the Vale with a Guinness and scribbled down the basics of this story. By my standards that's pretty involved planning
NUMBNESS: Right, here we go. Started this as a one-off but already it seems
to have a life of it's own. I'll post each chapter as soon as it it ready.
OLD COMIX
Here are some mini-comix I've done 'recently'. More to come - honest!
TERRY TOMA: I did this strip after seeing a rather strange documentary about people with growths inside them. I got to thinking about how these 'growths' could relate to 'personality' development as well physical. Previously appeared in FREAK and my own HEN'S TEETH comic.
SO LONG JACK NANCE: This was a strip I had planned (in my head) very differently from the way it turned out. Like most of my strips I tend to pencil them when I'm travelling to and from work, and generally do the inks when I'm on my lunch break. So I tend to rush the stories down. I enjoy spontaneity - but it can screw up initial planning. Hey-ho. Previously appeared in FREAK and my own HEN'S TEETH comic.
NOT REAL RABBITS: A cautionary tale about peanuts. Drawn from start to finish on a lunch break using OHP pens. Previously appeared in FREAK comic.
BARKING DOG'S BAD DAY: I've had more positive feedback about this strip than probably any other. This was devised & drawn on my lunch break, and as ever made into a small 4 page mini-book for friends and family etc. The main visual inspiration was a documentary I'd seen about sharks where this marine biologist sat himself on the remains of a well chewed whale and took pictures of the surrounding great white sharks - feeding on his floating platform!!! The title was from a really old story I'd started about a Native American brave (Barking Dog) - I should really do that one too. Previously appeared in FREAK and my own HEN'S TEETH comic.
LET ME TELL YOU...: This was the main strip from the Carrat Heid comic I did for Red Hot Comics mart in Feb 2005. And a true story to boot!
WATCH OUT! : God only knows what this is about. Again it was drawn on my lunch break and basically was based around the first panel, which I think I scribbled down while talking on the phone. This appeared in Simpo's FREAK comic.
