ILLUSTRATION

Here are various drawings for various reasons. I'll add to these as I go along.

HILLHEAD BLUES (& YELLOWS): As well as drawing I do like to 'spank my plank'- that's playing the guitar to you non-string-obsessed punters out there. I go to my mate Pudsey's (who's a fine cartoonist!) in the Hillhead area of Glasgow for the occasional jam. One such session was recorded by Dez Allenby who made a CD of the event and this is part of the artwork for the CD. I've also noticed that there are quite a lot of Banjos on this section - I don't even own one - wish I did though!

CHADFEST 2005: This is currently part of the sleeve artwork for Eugene Chadbourne's 2005 Chadfest release, the good Doc had a fire in his house last year (hence the burning house in the background). Check out www.eugenchadbourne.com - a fine musician, I once saw him get a tune out of a bloke's shoe laces, honest!

SKYE 2 COVER: This is a cover for a CD/DVD of our second trip to Skye ('our' being myself and the blokes from Hank29), at time of writing we are still working on an animation for the Emma track.

BIG EYED BEANS FROM VENUS: This was for a Captain Beefheart 'zine called Steal Softly Thru Snow, I really enjoyed submitting work to SSTS, sadly, it seems to be no more.

PIGJO: I had a request to draw a pig from Hans and Ulrike in Germany, here is a coloured version.

CARRAT HEID: This was the cover of a mini comic I did for the Glasgow Comic & Card Mart in Feb 2005. We raised money for the Asian Tsunami appeal and I was sat along side such legends as Frank Quitely, Alan Grant, & Jim Alexander. The drawing was actually one of my sketchbook pages, but I like it all the same.

SANDY'S PYJAMAS: This is a drawing for the first trip to Skye and appears on the DVD Hank29 produced (again checkout www.Hank29.com). Skye is a great place - very inspirational. We also met the amazing Nick Carter - who was the lighthouse keeper, guitarist and Tommy Cooper impersonator!!!

YOU STILL FEASTIN'?: A drawing I did as a wee birthday prezzie for the astounding guitarist Gary Lucas (www.garylucas.com). I did a few of these drawings based on the title of his first solo album SKELETON AT THE FEAST - he is seriously one of the most amazing guitarists you will ever hear.

FERNET BRANCA: This was my entry into the Fernet Branca competition this year (2005).
